Summer bakes away
every cool and pleasant thought
not my cup-of-tea.

Dragonflies whisper
delicate summer secrets
light as a warm breath.

God sustains oceans
thriving sea creatures galore
oceans sustain life.

Bright and sharp flashes
the deep voices of thunder
elements of storm.

Barely audible
hymns of secret fairy folk
fields and fields of song.

Wandering horses
consider summer mountains
nuzzle the grasses.

Birdsong and roses
musical morning beauty
waking ears and eyes.

Adventures with friends
in trees, near streams, by mountains 
are outdoor blessings.

Try fishing just once
and you may be snagged for life 
hook, line, and sinker.
