Country Children
Dogs, rabbits, and cows aren't all that make up a farm country children help.

Memories are naught but past experiences lived over again.

A rested soul is quiet. A wasted soul is dead. Some say a soul's a burden. I say a Gift instead.

I know a young woman from town Who fashioned a pitiful gown. She used the right tools, But broke all the rules, And now has to dress up-side down.

Wise farmers, LeAnna and Harley, Met up with DeAnna and Charlie. They talked about haying, How much it was paying, And when to sow wheat, corn, and barley.

The calm and stillness, the duly drifting cloudsโฆ A place of peace and remembering. Quiet memorials honoring the lives of the no-longer living. At one time, sharing the same world and atmosphere, now resting in the same earth. Solid and stoic, the headstones whisper names and dates and epitaphs. Angels, crosses, the Star of Davidโฆ bright, favorite flowers, flags, and woven wreaths. Families and soldiers and toddlers; musicians and carpenters and grandmothers. Brutally bare branches in early spring, and protective, leafy arms in summer. Living, melodious birds fluttering from stone-to-stone. Craftsmanship and design of the markers. Not just death, but respect of life, sorrow, and mystery. The image of God carefully crafted within each soul, returned to the Giver. The city limits of heaven.

Empathizing darkness comes –
Cool, refreshing night –
Blanketing the tired soul –
Resting from daylight.

There will always be
stories we tell our children
to explain the world.

A buzz or a bloom
winter’s melting snow reveals
a kingdom of life.
